Our work

Improving student outcomes, expanding access, and strengthening system capacity are at the core of Verdant’s work across the education ecosystem.

We see education as central to economic growth and social mobility. As expectations for skills rise and technology reshapes learning and work, the need for high-performing institutions and effective systems has never been greater. Yet substantial gaps remain in quality, attainment, and affordability.

Verdant partners with governments, school groups, and investors to address these challenges through practical, evidence-led solutions. Our work spans early childhood, K-12, higher education, and workforce development, combining strategy with implementation and long-term capability building.

Our team includes former MBB and Big Four consultants, experienced education operators, and school finance specialists, with deep leadership experience from GEMS Education and other leading institutions.

How we help

No two schools or two contexts are the same.

We combine deep local knowledge with global expertice, rich insights, and the best digital tools to help our clients achieve impact.

Literacy Improvement and Intervention

Literacy is foundational to student learning yet many literacy gaps go unaddressed. We provide tailor-developed programs aligned to current research, professional learning, and monitoring and evaluation in English and Arabic.

Students in schools using our programs typically make 2x expected progress against national norms.

Data Intelligence and School Improvement Coach Software

Through our School Improvement Coach platform, we enable monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement at school, network, and national levels. Bespoke dashboards bring data to life, turning evidence into clearer decisions, stronger accountability, and more productive conversations.

Investor Services

We frequently advise private equity and family offices on greenfield and brownfield school development. Contact us for further information on our due diligence and school planning work.

In addition, we advise select education technology companies on MENA market entry.

K-12 Education Improvement

We strengthen early childhood, primary, and secondary systems and institutions to expand access, improve literacy and student outcomes, and promote child well-being. Our work places particular emphasis on consistent quality assurance and on supporting communities and learner groups that require additional attention to thrive.

Case Studies

Opening an Elite School as a Flasgship Government Project

Verdant team members worked with a MENA government entity to create an academic plan for a STEM school that brings diverse gifted and talented youth from across the country to a single, well-equipped location for learning.

Over a one-year period, Verdant team members worked with stakeholders from government, academia, and industry to design the curriculum, board composition, teacher and leader profiles, target partners, entrepreneurship programs, and a professional learning program for staff.

The school opened in September, 2022.

Transforming Reading Instruction in GCC schools

Verdant worked with school leaders to improve reading fluency and manage wide attainment gaps in English and Arabic.

We embedded a range of AI and human-led tools into a systematic, data-driven and Science of Reading program across curricula and fee points.

Participating students were nearly twice as likely to reach benchmarks. Teacher time spent on assessment and grouping fell, freeing more time for instruction.

Improving Affordable Education at Scale

A multi-school UAE group to support the improvement of their schools. Following a review of inspection reports, planning, student performance data, and interviews with stakeholders, identified key levers for success. Aligned to these levers, we partnered with the schools on strategic planning, pre-inspection documentation, data-driven instruction, performance management, and improved teaching and learning. As a result, all schools engaged moved a full inspection rating.

A Foundation Supporting Play-Based Learning

We were delighted when a UAE-headquartered foundation approached us to help answer the question: Can after-school learning be fun…for teenagers? The answer, of course, is yes. But becoming a trusted expert on fun while maintaining classroom management can present challenges. Following a deep dive to understand the aims of and challenges presented by the program, we developed a series of professional learning sessions to equip and empower instructors to drive engagement and joy while fostering community and responsibility.

Preparing for an AI-Forward World

Since 2016, our team members have helped to prepare school groups for an innovative, and AI-forward education landscape.

We have created progressive AI literacy and innovation frameworks spanning students, teachers, and leaders, aligned to curriculum, assessment, and emerging global standards for public and private school groups, developed guidance, guardrails, and review processes to ensure ethical, age-appropriate, and secure integration of AI into learning. At the same time, we have delivered large-scale professional learning focused on practical classroom application, moving from awareness to confident everyday use.

Shaping Digital Transformation at Public and Private Schools

Designed a digital audit tool and conducted systematic audits across 50+ schools, assessing infrastructure, pedagogy, leadership capability, and classroom practice, alongside the extent to which students and teachers were developing coding and computational thinking competencies.

Designed and applied a digital and computational thinking maturity scale with clear stages and descriptors capturing progression in teacher and student competencies.

Enabled school leaders and central teams to differentiate support by maturity level, aligning professional learning for teachers with structured pathways for students to build coding and computational thinking capability, rather than deploying generic technology initiatives.

Informed network-wide strategy, professional learning, and edtech investment decisions, ensuring investment accelerated teacher capability and student progression in coding and computational thinking consistently across the network.
